Eliteserien: Brand Refinement for digital media
Rood Design was brought in by Æra to evolve the Eliteserien visual identity for a digital-first world. The existing brand, originally created by Scandinavian Design Group, had strong foundations. The task wasn't reinvention, but refinement: sharpening it for broadcast, stadium, social, and digital without losing what made it recognisable.
The project followed a structured process: mapping existing identity elements, establishing strategic architecture and visual principles, then refining and finalising the system into a complete brand manual. The goal was an identity robust enough to stand on its own, not one dependent on TV graphics alone, with a clear strategic rationale and enough distinction to serve each league, while still drawing strength from the whole.
Øyedrops brought motion to the centre of the project, treating movement as a structural element rather than a finishing touch. Transitions, reveals, and rhythm were defined with the same rigour as colour and type. Their work resulted in a scalable system of templates, guidelines, and asset libraries built for the many hands that would use it: broadcasters, clubs, and content teams working at speed.
Øyedrops led the 3D universe and broadcast graphics, creating a youthful, contemporary aesthetic rooted in Nordic landscapes. Light environments, abstract illuminating details, and colour drawn directly from the game itself ran through every layer of the brand.
The result works on a 60-inch broadcast screen and a 6-inch phone. Built for now, with room to grow.
