Visual Identity

Visual identity for TV drama production

Rood Design collaborated with Rune Bendiksen and TV2 to create the visual identity for Flukten fra Bolivia, a Norwegian TV drama inspired by Norway's largest cocaine case, requiring a brand presence that could carry weight across broadcast, print, and digital.

The brief called for an identity rooted in place. Bolivia's landscapes, culture, and colour palette became the primary visual source material, with warm ochres, dusty golds, and deep jungle greens running through every execution. Drama branding lives or dies on atmosphere, and here the atmosphere was specific: altitude, heat, tension, and a visual culture rich enough to draw from without reducing to cliché.

Two core devices drive the system. A torn-paper motif splits worlds, with the Bolivian landscape rupturing into the drama above it, a single image carrying both geography and conflict. On the billboard format, characters are masked inside the oversized letterforms of BOLIVIA itself, faces revealed through the title, making the word and the story inseparable.

The process moved from narrative analysis and visual positioning through to a complete identity system covering logotype, typography, colour, and a set of visual principles governing how the brand behaves across contexts.

The result works across series posters, billboard campaigns, broadcast stings, and digital surfaces, coherent at every scale, and strong enough to stand without the drama doing the work for it.
